You got to know when to walk away... know when to run.
Friday after Thanksgiving? A day for shopping right? Well not for this blogger...
I went out to lunch with Michelle and Patrick. We went to Pei Wei and shot the shit... talked about current events such as Patrick's brush with a girl with three fuzzy handcuffs in her closet and such. Michelle wanted to see a woman with five breasts. So did I. We went to Lou's and got ice cream at Encinitas Ice Cream. What? You don't know where that is? Well let me tell you. It's in the Target Center near the McDonald's. You must be asking yourself, "Wait! Isn't that a Heidi and & Swensen's?" NOT ANYMORE! First El Torito and now this... what is this center coming to? They are even opening a Quizno's where the Padres Store used to be. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a Quizno's 1/4 mile south on El Camino Real next to Hollywood Video?
Anyway, after that I went to work and worked for 6 hours. Hell.
I then picked up Scotty and met his family from outta town. We went to Pala, and I actually supported the Injuns. I gave 'em $5 of my hard earned money. Scotty though, oh boy... Scotty cleaned them out! $30 went into his pocket from playin' roulette. I played video poker cuz all the other tables had limits and bullshit like that. I played Deuces Wild, and the bullshit this about this one was a THREE OF A KIND means you break even! Lame.
Saturday morning I woke up and Tina and I had our first basketball practice with our team. We are the Suns. I took the boys, and Tina took the girls. The boys were pretty good. They could all do lay ups and they could all pull up and shoot the J and they could all pass and dribble. Two of the three could even hit the three fairly consitently. Tina on the other hand wasn't so lucky. Olivia is on our team and she is easily the best girl. It helps cuz she is like a foot taller than everyone else. This one girl refused to shoot the ball two hands. She couldn't hit the rim from the FT line. Sad. Oh well... should be an interesting league to say the least!
I then went to work and bored myself.
Tina and Sam came and picked me up and we went to Deema and Dora's house and met up with those crazy Saad sisters as well as Lucy and Amanda. Deema suggested that we go to the Gourmet Bistro... McDonald's Gourmet Bistro! Deema got a steak panini and I got a buffalo chicken sandwich. Sam got a cafe mocha, and the rest of the girls got white trash Micky Ds. How uncooth. Lara and Kim met us there, but for some reason didn't get out of their car. They went through the Drive-Thru, Kim ate, and then they left?
We all went down to Mira Mesa Bowl and got our roll on. The teams were: Sam, Lara and Kim aka Jones, Lara and Kimbo vs. Tina, Amanda and myself aka Muffin, Amandaaaa and AC/DC. AC/DC is a name Dora gave me which stands for ASS CLOWN/DISRESPECTFUL CUNT... endearing huh? Dora, Deema and Lucy watched and cheered us on from the sideline. I got 111 the first game, killing everyone by at least 20. Our team won. The second game though, Lara felt as if she had to cheat. She brought out the bumpers. and wow... I haven't seen so much bouncing around since Daniel made me watch THE FAST AND THE CURIOUS. Hehe, just kiddin' bud. But seriously, you'd think that the bumpers would be there as a back-up, but I think Lara was trying to measure the angles and all of that and I swear she was throwing them right into the bumpers to see how many times she could hit each one. Long story short... I got a 117, along with little help from my teammates, and we ended up losing by 1.
We all went back to Deema and Dora's house afterward. The girls all congregated in the kitchen while I watched a bit of JOE SOMEBODY with Joseph, their brother, and their father.
I then joined the girl circle with little coaxing from Dora and joined in the fun. They were setting up a hooka... apple flavored. I've never smoked anything in my life. It was pretty good. I was inhaling like Clinton never did. Joseph and I taught the girls how to play poker... I won.
After our 30 minute goodbye, Tina Sam and I left and went to Allie's house to say hi to her. We came home and I slept... in my velour pants kids! YEAH!

Vids.
Videos I recommend:
Ocean Breathes Salty by Modest Mouse: It's deep guys. Really. and the costumes are cool. and the little boy is cool.
Always by Blink 182: The best video I've seen in a long time. I love the concept of it, and it's a good song too. I highly recommend this video
Video I don't recommend:
Blood Red Summer by Coheed & Cambria: I'm sure Lara will give me shit for this, but it is just NOT a good video. The concept really isn't clear, and it's just poorly put together. They could've done much better... but what do you expect from a band that made the video for FAVORHOUSE ATLANTIC

Zady's Small... in the Pants!
Thanksgiving came and Thanksgiving went... and shit happened in between.
We drove to Fullerton yesterday after we watched Peyton Manning and the Colts dismantle the Lions. My dad and Tina wanted to play the license plate game on the way up. BIG MISTAKE. I worked them left and right. After all, I have a slight advantage, having played for a week straight this summer on my road trip, after I did the same thing last year. I memorize what states each color combination goes to and all of that. Embarassing.
We had a grand old time sitting around and talking, but then the kids realized, we need to spice this thing up. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!
Zady, Nader, Tom vs. Tina, Talia, Ilyana, Olivia: Boys won 5 to 2. Flea Flickers and button hooks were key. Nader and I are the only ones that know the terms, so play calling was much easier.
Dad, Tina, Olivia, Ilyana, Tom vs. Nader, Amo Bashour, Zady, Talia: 3 to 5. Our whole playbook wasn't workin'. Nobody would pick up their players... my dad has a bad knee and wanted to be QB so he wouldn't have to run, but that just wasn't cuttin' the mustard. It wasn't a pretty picture. We mounted a comeback of sorts, but not big enough I s'pose.
Dinner was good. Two turkeys for some reason... one from the oven, one from the fryer. Mashed taters, wine... even though I didn't drink any, we still all had a good time. Zady's friends Joe and Matt came over and ate and hung out.
Zady, Joe, Matt and I played a texas hold 'em poker tournament with a $5 buy in. I won the first two hands and the 4th and 5th as well. Since we ran out of chips, Joe gave me $5 and I sold him some chips... so I broke even. We played some more and Matt ended up losing his chips and bought some off of Zady. Matt eventually lost and since the buy-ins ceased at 7:30, he was first out. I was pretty down, but I clawed my way back with some clever bluffing and some steady hands. Zady was the second one out. So it came down to me and Joe. I swear I saw a tumbleweed go by...
So we upped the blinds from 2 and 1 to 4 and 2, which was later upped to 6 and 3, then finally 10 and 5. Joe and I started out slow, checking every card after the blinds... I only had eighteen chips, and ten of those had to go toward the blinds the next hand if I would have lost... so I went all in. I ended up winning that hand, and decided to go all in with a full house on the next hand. I had more chips and I forced Joe to go all in with his 36 chips. He was lookin' for a straight, and I ended up winning on a Q high. Just like I imagined it to be!
That's $20 in my pocket.

Sons o' Bitches...
I blogged for about 45 minutes about my trip to Santa Cruz. It was like 12 paragraphs long... and of course Blogger fucks up and deletes everything. Typical.
It was fun... plain and simple.
Theo Huxtable is one funny motha fucka. Too bad LISTEN UP is bombing so badly. Sucks for him and Jason Alexander... if only their show about sports could have debuted when they weren't up against Monday Night Football. I like Tony Kornheiser too... frump.

You are from Thithily? That is tho thuper!
I am 19. How fun!
On my birthday I went to class and took a test. Always fun. I then got lunch with Tina, Lara, Grace, Noah and Phil. Our topics of discussion included: Europe, pick up lines, and whether women picked up in bars are trashy and marriage worthy. Lara almost lost her lunch when Phil started talking about sex. Daniel called me when I was on my way to class to tell me that History class was cancelled. My professor musta heard it was my birthday. The one day we DON'T have class and it's my birthday. This woman keeps us in class like five minutes after class should end every time too. What a day! Zady was running very late and we couldn't go out to dinner for my birthday. We went to a concert too! Tina, Lara, Zady and I met Joel and Michelle along with Micah at the Epicentre. The first band that went on was SAY ANYTHING... the official band of 2004. Following them was Northstar, who happened to put out a CD that was Top 5 calibur. After them was Hot Rod Circuit, which was a nice break. Then came Straylight Run. Only Joel and I really enjoyed them. Some people say they are a little slow, but I say that some people are slow. After the show we went to TGI Fridays... minus Micah. He left after Northstar for some reason.
On Friday I dicked around Encinitas with Zady. Got lunch with him, Tina and Joel at Chipotle then Joel and I went to Lou's to watch Reeve Oliver play a free show. It was cold like the dickens, or so my nipples said. They were pretty good though, good enough to make me listen to their CD again. I then went to dinner at Sirino's, my favorite restaurant that I can't afford, with Tina, mom, dad, Zady, Lara, Alex, Grace, grandma, grandma and Nader. At night Tina Zady and I watched POOLHALL JUNKIES, which is a very good movie by the way.
On Saturday Zady, Tina and I went out to breakfast. We dicked around some more, in a completely hands-off sorta way. Then we went to lunch with Tina, mom, Talia, Olivia, grandma and Nader. wow, I named a buncha people in this blog. I then checked into my hotel, made some acquisitions and got ready for my party.
The party was fun. I was overdressed, as usual. Tina, Lara, Lara, Zady, Joel Michelle, Dora, Lucy, Amanda, Ty, Jaime (Ty's gf), Joe (Ty's roommate), Micah, and Kelly (Micah's gf) were all there. A good time was had by me at least! Cleaning up was a bitch... but hey, every up has its down.
On Sunday I came home and hung out with Chris. We watched football, played Madden, got pizza, then went to church. After church Tina, Chris and I got dinner and I came home and passed the fuck out. I planned on staying up for South Park at 11, but I sat down at 10:55 and fell asleep at 10:56. I fell asleep in the PM. Embarassing.

WARIO
Saturday- Coheed show... Read about the show on Thursday, add Lucy and Amanda, imagine gum on the floor.
Sunday- Woke up after 4 long hours of sleep to do the breast cancer walk in San Diego. It was 5K, and there ewre over 300,000 people there. Crazy shit. I did it with Tina, my mom, Bobby, and his parents. Afterward I went to their house and Bobby and I picked up Chris and Patrick and we went to the Chargers game. It was a helluva game. The Chargers KILLED the Saints. It was pathetic. We were sitting right in front of some wives of some Saints players. I made some friends with the guys around me. It's nice sports can bring people together like that. I then went home after the game and showered and rested and went out to dinner with Tina, my parents, Bobby, Patrick, Chris, and their parents. We had sushi. I really liked it actually. Only certain type of sushi will do... tuna, shrimp, crab, lobster. Needs a lot of soy sauce and wasabi.
On Monday the softball game was cancelled. Got my Poly Sci midterm back... got a B. Happy with that shit. Daniel and I left right after we got our test and met up with Joe for lunch. We had time to kill so we went and played some video games. I whooped Daniel at NFL BLITZ '99, bringing it to 2-1 with me winning the series, bitch. Sorry Dan, I know you won't accept it, but hey... I beat you. So just suck it up and take it.
I stayed up till 1:30 typin' my essay. I started at like 10:30 and in three hours wrote 280 words. What a slacker. I cranked out over 1000 words today though in like 45 minutes. I am amazing. It was a good paper too. A history one. Let's not forget the best part of my day... I got MARIO POWER TENNIS!

So on Wednesday I am driving with Tina, Grace and Lara... and of course we are talking about the election. Now there were a bunch of different conversations held between the four of us, but ther were two that stood out in my mind.
Conversation One:
Grace: Well the whole south went to Bush, and all of New England went to Kerry. I guess we know who the smarter group is.
Lara: Yeah, those stupid south people don't know what the hell is going on. Kerry used too big of words. I mean, he used words that even I didn't know... so if I didn't know them, there is no way that they would know them.
Conversation Two:
Tina: Well there will probably be another war, and then we'll all be sorry.
Grace: Yeah, the next place to get bombed is gonna be North Korea.
Tom: Oh no... poor Kim Jong Il.
Lara: Tommy... it's not real.
Tom: What?
Lara: He's a fuckin' puppet Tom.
OK, now... in keeping with spirit of the election, I want everyone who reads this to vote on which situation is funnier. I don't care if you are over 18, an immigrant, gay, whatever... just get out and vote. VOTE OR DIE MOTHA FUCKA VOTE OR DIE VOTE OR DIE!

She was complaining that she doesn't have enough time...
Softball game: Got our asses whooped 24-9. I went 2-3. No swingin' for the fences. Bad idea maybe. Joel, if you come to my game on Monday, I promise I will try.
Election Day: Bush won. More idiots in this country than I could have ever imagined. I really thought that after the war took place everyone would rather have anyone else in office... maybe my mind was cluttered with California logic. I guess no one knows what those inbred rednecks are thinking in the South. DOWN WITH T.W.A.T. (The War Against Terrorism)
Poly Sci midterm on Wednesday. No movie watched in film class. We got in groups to make a film for the end of the semester. I'm in a group with Daniel, Alex, and about six others. I wanna make a movie on kickball... Alex wants to make a movie about Underground Beta Fighting... Daniel wants to make a movie where he can dress like a gangsta (so basically himself)... and Billy wants to make a movie where he can beat somebody up. Should be a fun experience.
Got a new refridgerator in the morning. Got rid of the one in the garage and moved the one from the kitchen to the garage and put the new one in the kitchen. You never realize how much food can fit into one of those suckas until you see everything spread around your kitchen. Who knew we had marachino cherries in the far back?!
Went to the Coheed show last night. Tina, Lara, Alex and I drove down to Hollywood to see 'em. I don't really know why I agreed. I don't think any of us really would do it again if we had the opportunity. Well, maybe Lara. Tina and Alex were supposed to be studying and doing homework, but none of it really got done in the car. I was agitated that Lara was making us listen to Coheed on the way to the show. Their show was boring because I had just got a sufficient supply of them a mere two hours before. The Palladium is so freakin' nice. It's a huge ballroom with two tiers. Wood floors to boot. No gum was allowed inside, which did make sense I guess. No food or drink of any kind. There was alcohol served there if you were 21+. I take it this was the reason the crowd was barricaded 10 feet from the stage. It's probably the nicest venue I have ever been to. I'm convinced that LA and OC have the best venues... The Palladium, The Glasshouse and The HOB Anaheim are the best venues. SD doesn't have that great of venues once you experience what there is outside.
Underoath wasn't as bad as I thought they'd be. They interested me. Six people on stage? A little much, but the Palladium was accomodating. The keyboardist was janky, but big... if that makes any sense. He couldn't nail the coordination it takes to play and move at the same time. We can't all be talented like Makeshift.
Coheed & Cambria was OK. It's a little annoying that I've seen them five times, and each time the crowd screams for TIME CONSUMER and they never play it. Claudio was messin' up like usual. I'm accustomed to it. Let's hope they are better on Saturday.
